Best Timesaving Saving Gadget Ever!

The Karcher window vac is probably the best household timesaving gadget I have used.
I used to detest cleaning windows, although it can still be a chore it has halved the amount of time I spend doing it.
I owned the previous basic model which didn't come with any of the accessories.
I wanted a smaller head attachment so ordered this kit.
There are some noticeable differences in the machines. It is lighter in the hand and is slightly smaller in size which makes it easier to use. The design in how you open the chamber to pour away the waste has improved and it now flashes green instead of red when charging. Obviously no biggy but just an observation.
In operation there is no discernible differences. Although this time I have the spray bottle and cloth attachment to clean the window prior to vacuuming. To be honest I used to use a spray bottle of window cleaner filled half and half with cleaner and water. Spray window then agitate it with a non stick pan scrubber and got the same results. So much so that I will probably continue to do that.
You also still need to have some kitchen roll handy to wipe round the edge of the window that the Karcher still leaves behind.
It's for that reason it loses a star. It's still not perfect and you can sometimes notice some marks left by the squeegee a few days after you have cleaned. But it is 100 times better than using a spray cleaner and elbow grease. No more smearing and a lot less effort. It is so simple to do. You can clean a window in a fraction of the time.
The smaller head is great too. It means I can now clean my internal oak doors that have glass panel inserts.
The Karcher is not just for windows too, I use it on mirrors, shower cabinets, tiles and my fridge freezer.
Such a simple idea but a very effective one. Every home should have one.

Disgusted - she walked into the patio door

I'm mortified, after spending a little over a minute cleaning the patio doors my wife didn't notice the cleanliness and walked into the closed door. I am disgusted - she has left a body shape mark...
To make things worse I nearly wet myself laughing - well done Karcher :-)

Saves a lot of hard work, time and mess

I thoroughly recommend this product. It really makes light work of cleaning dirty windows and it saves on time and mess compared to using a bucket of water and cloths.
The pack contains two items – You might want to think of them as ‘wipe on’ and ‘wipe off’ a bit like the 'wax on and wax off' in the old Karate Kid movies if you can remember so far back.
The ‘wipe on’ unit is the white one in the photograph. It is basically a big bottle of window cleaning fluid with a cloth wiper attached to it. It has a spray nozzle and a trigger and you just squeeze the trigger to spray the cleaning fluid onto the window. You then use the cloth wiper to spread the cleaning fluid all over the window and lift the dirt. You then use the wipe off unit (see below) to lift the dirt.
The ‘wipe off’ unit is the yellow on in the photograph. It is basically a rechargeable mini vacuum cleaner with a squeegee blade attached to it. You just pull the squeegee blade down the window. As you wipe off the cleaning fluid and dirt it is sucked into the wipe-off unit and stored in an internal tank. It comes with two different squeegees; a large one and a smaller one.
It’s as easy as that – you just wipe the cleaning fluid on with the white unit then then wipe it off (including the dirt) with the second unit. It is a really simple but effective system.
You can buy additional bottles of cleaning fluid for about £4 and additional cloth wipers for about £5 each on Amazon. The fluid lasts ages although this depends on how often you clean your windows of course! You can wash and re-use the cloth wipers loads of times. I have been using the same wipers for nearly a year now and they are as good as new.
You need to charge up the ‘wipe off’ unit each time before you use it. It comes with a built-in rechargeable battery so you don't need to buy any batteries or a battery charger etc. You just plug it into any mains socket and leave it to charge up. As you use it the dirt and fluid goes into a small internal tank and you can keep an eye on the level as it fills up. You can empty it any time. It is amazing how dirty the ‘wipe off’ liquid is - just concentrated dirt and cleaning liquid.
The ‘wipe off’ unit takes a bit of getting used to and you need to practice a few times to get the hang of it. I found I was leaving streaks and bits of dirty water at first and I found the best way to fix this was to simply use a dry cloth after wiping off to get rid of any residue. The unit itself is not very heavy; maybe two or three pounds (1-2 kilos) at most so most people would be able to lift it and use it above shoulder level etc.
Overall I think it is great. It takes most of the work out of cleaning your windows and it really saves on time and mess. It is also worth remembering You can use it on all glass items, not just windows. I have used it on shower screens, mirrors, display unit doors etc. It works really well on all glass and because the 'wipe off' unit vacuums up the fluid and dirt you don't have to worry about any splashes on carpets etc. if you use it inside the house.
Also this may sound crazy but I also use it to clean the car. The soft rubber squeegee is perfect for this because there are no sharp edges to scratch the paint and, unlike a cloth, it does not hold dirt or grit that can damage the paint as you use the cloth. You need to use a car cleaning liquid of course rather than the Karcher window cleaning fluid but otherwise this system doubles great as a car cleaning kit.
If you are thinking of buying one you might want to consider a couple of things.
1 – You need to take care when spraying the cleaning fluid, especially on a windy day. It is powerful stuff and you don't want to get it in your eyes.
2- Don’t buy the Karcher standard extension pole (available on Amazon) it may fit the other types of very similar Karcher cleaner but it definitely does not fit the WV2 premium second generation. The fittings on each item are quite different. I bought one and had to return it.
Otherwise this is a great product once you get used to it. It really saves on hard work and mess when you are cleaning your windows.
